• 6 Rounds of 3-Move Openings using the Swiss System.

• The best arrangements for a motel is:  off I-80 (east of west), take the 72St. Exit north.  There are 7 motels right there 1 block away.  You can choose from: Super 8, Baymont, Travel Lodge, Clariton, Holiday Inn, Howard Johnson's, and Quality Inn.  The lowest rate seems to be Travel Lodge & Super 8.  Prices range from $60 to $65 plus tax.  Dave Stovie  necheckers@q.com

• The Nebraska Checkers Association recently held their 3rd Annual Omaha City Open Championship.
• John Butler was the highest finishing Omaha player and declared the 2008 Omaha City Champion.
• This tournament was a 6-round 3-Move Opening Championship with a new winner from a field of 12 entries.
• Tournament announcement and results was run in the Omaha World-Herald.
• The Old Country Buffet was a great place to host this Championship
• Dave Stovie donated $50 plus the City Championship Trophy, John Pestal also donated $5 to the prize fund.
